EXOTIC SUNRISE SETUMBU - BOROBUDUR & PRAMBANAN     

Our driver picks you up at the hotel around 03.30 Am (in the morning) from hotel and continues to drive to SETUMBU HILL. It is a hill located in Karangrejo Village, Borobudur District or about 5 km to the west of Borobudur Temple. In this place, not only the exoticism of the sun rising from behind Mount Merapi and Merbabu, but it will create unforgettable moment, and you can enjoy the alluring temple of Samaratungga’s relic covered with fog in the morning. As an iformation, you shall prepare yourself snack & mineral water because there are some challenges to reach this place on foot. In order to enjoy the sunrise on the hill with the height of about 400 mdpl, you must first pay the retribution rate of IDR 50,000/person. Then, you have to climb the hill about 10-15 minutes. Since it is still dark, it is recommended that you bring a flashlight or other lighting device.

After seeing sunrise in Setumbu, proceed to Borobudur temple. It consists of three monuments: namely the Borobudur Temple and two smaller temples situatued to the east on a straight axis to Borobudur. The two temples are Mendut Temple, whose depiction of Buddha is represented by a formidable monolith accompanied by two Bodhisattvas, and Pawon Temple, a smaller temple whose inner space does not reveal which deity might have been the object of worship. Those three monuments represent phases in the attainment of Nirvana. In this temple, you have two and half hour to explore it. The breakfast is in the local restaurant near the temple on your own (optional). Next, head forward to Prambanan temple.

PRAMBANAN TEMPLE is the biggest Hindu heritage and has beautiful scenery because of the design. It has historical background that attracts the tourists. This makes Prambanan become the second top of tourism object in Klaten. The site is located on 17 kilometers away from Yogyakarta. The temple was built in the 9th century, and it has 3 main shrines with 47 meters height. Those three depict Trimurti, the belief to 3 gods, they are Shiva (the destroyer) in the centre, Brahmana (the keeper) in the south, and Wishnu (the creator) in the north. There are 3 smaller shirens in front of those three main ones that depict the transportation of Trimurti. They are Shiva's Nandi (a buffalo), Brahma's Goose, and Vishnu's Garuda. The tourists can learn the Ramayana story from the reliefs carved on the clockwise along the wall of Shiva's shrine to the Brahma. While Krisnayana story is carved along the wall of Vishnu. After visiting the temple, drive you back hotel in Jogjakarta. Tour ends.
